Terms of Service
Effective August 6, 2026. Also see our Privacy Policy.
Agreement
By accessing or using PayCheck (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company.
The Service
PayCheck provides APIs and a console to verify Ethiopian bank and wallet payment receipts against expected amounts, accounts, and other checks you configure. We do not hold customer funds, process card payments as a merchant acquirer, or act as a bank. Verification depends on upstream bank and wallet systems and may be delayed or unavailable when those systems are down.
Accounts and API keys
You are responsible for safeguarding login credentials and API keys, for activity under your account, and for configuring expectations correctly. You must not share keys publicly, attempt to bypass rate limits or quotas, or use the Service to verify payments you are not authorized to handle.
Acceptable use
You may use the Service only for lawful purposes. Prohibited uses include fraud, money laundering facilitation, scraping or attacking our systems or bank portals, reverse-engineering except as allowed by law, reselling access without our written consent, and submitting false or misleading verification requests.
Fees and billing
Paid plans, top-ups, and platform billing are charged as described in the console and pricing pages. Fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law or where we agree otherwise in writing. We may suspend access for unpaid balances or abuse.
Data and confidentiality
You retain rights to data you submit. You grant us a license to process that data as needed to provide and secure the Service. See our Privacy Policy for details. You must not upload unlawful content or secrets you are not allowed to share.
Availability and changes
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted Service. We may modify features, providers, rate limits, and pricing with notice when material. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or create security risk.
Disclaimer
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PAYCHECK DISCLAIMS WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT EVERY RECEIPT WILL BE VERIFIED SUCCESSFULLY OR THAT UPSTREAM BANK DATA IS ERROR-FREE.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PAYCHECK AND ITS AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, OR DATA. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING FROM THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE FEES YOU PAID US IN THE THREE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.
Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these terms, or your failure to obtain rights needed to submit verification data.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ethiopia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless a mandatory local law applies to you as a consumer. Courts in Addis Ababa shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to applicable mandatory protections.
